Distance Learning Center
Civilian Customers
Welcome to the Maine Army National Guard Distance Learning Center. Our services can be provided to State and Local Government on a cost reimbursable basis. Local business are welcomed to utilize our facilities as well. Please call ahead for a price quote. Qualifying non-profit organizations may be able to receive free/reduced price services.
Our services include the ability to connect over a national network via teleconferencing; where we have access to over 54 states and territories. In addition to our video abilities we have the computer classrooms that can be used for computer based instruction or presentations. Our large 72 inch screen is easily seen in the back of the classroom for multi state/site presentations.
The classroom may be requested for a period of time to allow completion of a conference, course, or meeting. In the Maine Guard we have a wide-geographical area and we are familiar with the amount of traveling people have to do to conduct a meeting. Our classrooms can help save your time. Video teleconferencing is a great alternative for long distance meetings, it not only saves time, but it can help save on per diem, and travel expenses.
Our staff is here to support you with a headache-free environment so that you may conduct your business.
If you would like to rent out more than the Distance Learning Center you may contact the Armory Rental Program.
Our Official Mission
The Distributed Training Technology Program (DTTP) has three mutually supportive objectives: improve National Guard readiness by providing increased access to military training and education; facilitate command, control, communications, and computing within the National Guard in support of both Federal and State missions; foster economic development, improve educational levels, and provide information access for communities in which the National Guard is based. The latter objective is called 'shared use' of DTTP facilities by non-Department of Defense activities (other federal government agencies, state/local governments, and organizations and individuals). Shared usage is based on a space available, cost-reimbursable basis.
Our three Distance Learning Centers are part of this National Guard Bureau initiative known as the DTTP. Classroom rental is available at three conveniently located Distance Learning classrooms as a cost-effective means of training and communicating, while reducing travel time. Our goal: to partner with public and private organizations through 'shared usage' of our facilities.
