DO YOU LIKE TO VOLUNTEER?

DO YOU LIKE TO HELP MILITARY FAMILIES?

DO YOU ENJOY WORKING WITH THE PUBLIC, COMMUNITIES AND LOCAL BUSINESSES?

If you answered "yes-yes-yes", then OPERATION RECOGNITION is the place for you.  Operation Recognition is a non-profit organization founded in Edgecomb, Maine for the main purpose of saying “Thank You” to military service members and their families with a week of relaxation, rejuvenation and healing as a family unit. To date, Operation Recognition has provided 20 military families with a week of R & R at The Sheepscot Harbour Resort and Village in Edgecomb, Maine.  As the request for this opportunity grows, so does the need to have volunteers. They need a few good men and women to volunteer their time to help with some terrific fundraising opportunities.

If you would like to know more about who they are and what projects they have coming up, please contact Tina at (207) 582-0854, send e-mails to oprec2007@yahoo.com, or visit the website at: http://www.operationrecognition.com/

FREE Oil change at Capital Car Care, Western Ave., Augusta

In appreciation to the services provided by the members of the Maine National Guard who are now serving in Iraq and Afghanistan we are pleased to announce a free service to their spouse while they are deployed in Iraq.

During the term of their service in Iraq and Afghanistan, we will provide a free oil change and lubrication service on the vehicle their spouse is using while they are away.  This is to be a specified vehicle and the service will be performed every 4000 miles at our place of business.  Should that vehicle be traded or lost due to accident we will perform the same services on a replacement vehicle.  This service will be continued until the service member returns home from duty in Iraq or Afghanistan.

To any unmarried service member with children here at home we will extend the same service to the principal person looking after those children (parent, relative, neighbor, etc)

The procedure is simple.  Simply come in and identify the person in Iraq or Afghanistan, identify yourself and the vehicle to be serviced – that’s all!  Ask for Dan, John, Steve or Bob Brooks and we will do the rest.

This is neither an advertisement nor a publicity program.  It is our small way to show the men and women that we support what they are doing and wish them will while they are away.
