What is the Family Support Group and how does it affect me:
The Family Support Group is run by family members who volunteer
their time to come up with things to do here at home and also ideas
on what we can do to help our soldiers in Iraq along with the
soldiers that were left behind. The Family Readiness Group is
volunteer driven. Any family member (i.e. Mother, Father, Spouse,
Child, Sibling, fellow soldier or Friend) who would like to join us
for any event is welcome. We are actively seeking volunteers and
ideas for more things to do and better ways to do them. Currently,
we have had such events as Easter Egg Hunt, Wellness & Facials, 4th
of July float for Augusta parade, Support Group Meetings,
Scapbooking, and Family picnic.
What is the Family Assistance Center and how does it affect
me:
The Family Assistance Center is manned by paid professionals to help
in referrals to agencies that can provide services to the families
of our soldiers (i.e., ID Cards, Red Cross, Tri-Care etc.). They
also make monthly phone calls to families in their database. This
includes all branches of the service not just the National Guard.
They are available 24 X 7 365 days a year. Should you need their
services, please call 1-888-365-9287.
